Nature Qigong

THURSDAYS THROUGH SEPTEMBER 25

Connect with the elements of nature and traditional Chinese Medicine and learn specific exercises to promote vitality, improve mental clarity, and strengthen the immune system.  The sights, smells, sounds and atmosphere in the woods and on the trails heightens the spirit and benefit of Qigong.

Expect to feel a lessening of stress, an increase in peaceful, calm energy, and renewed appreciation for the power of nature and the harmony that one can cultivate within.

Nature Qigong is appropriate for all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. We will walk 10 minutes or less at a gentle pace with a mild incline and some uneven woodland path surfaces.

Each class is $10 and will begin at one of the trailheads in the Mohonk Preserve or Minnewaska State Park. Those who register will receive more detailed directions and information via email or text. You can register for one or more sessions.

Location may change due to weather conditions. Please call or text 845-399-1033 for more info, or fill out the contact form with your questions and for more information.

Entrance to the Mohonk Preserve is free to members. A day pass can be purchased at the Trail Head for $15. An annual pass is available for $70 with a $10 discount for those over 65. I have several day passes available for use for those who have not experienced the Preserve, and would like to come to the class. Entrance to Minnewaska is per carload. It is free during the week for residents of New York State with drivers license ID.

A Generative Workshop for the Year of the Yin Wood Snake

Qigong, Meditation, Mythosomatic Movement and Poetry

The Yin Wood Snake slithers into our lives as the quintessential symbol and teacher of Qi or life force, because it is adaptable, flexible, and water-like in its movements. It embodies great speed and power.  The snake sheds its skin – an act of transition, transgression and transformation. Imagine what that new skin must feel like and we begin to understand why the snake is associated not only discernment but sensitivity. We will explore adaptability, wisdom, energy and transformation through somatic awareness, movement and writing prompts and exercises for poetry, prose or journal.

• cultivate mind body connection. • open channels of energy and expression. • gain support for “slithering” out of our comfort zone. • learn gentle, easy to follow movements. • stimulate the imagination absent the critical voice. • honor and nourish the idea of letting go • tap into our inner strength and sensitivity. • write for oneself or to share

Experience the joyful and power energy of the snake!
